Yan participated in numerous shows and exhibitions in Russia, and many of his paintings are now in private collections in Germany, Russia, Finland, Sweden, USA and Canada.
He's been living in Toronto since 1996, and created many wonderous works since. Suburban areas of Toronto, as well as many citiscapes have been the subject of his late works.
Working in oil, and drawing inspiration from the Russian Art of the 18th - 20th centuries, Yan developed his own styles of painting. While creating his landscapes Yan tries to enhance his technique using special approaches developed by old Russian Masters. The evolution of the Russian Landscape produced a number of great artists. Yan continually learns from their masterpieces.
Developing his skills in surrealism, Yan constantly feels the influence of Salvador Dali's artistry and imagination. Yan's unbound imagination drives him to new ideas and their realizations.
Yan also enjoys painting still life, portraits and murals, either from his works, or custom requests.
"Snow Fields" currently on exhibition at the Art Gallery of Hamilton.
